Nick Knowles talked about orangutans & that 13 a day get killed because of rainforests being destroyed at an ridiciolous rate. 5000 get killed a year & there's 30,000 left. That gives us a few years left to do something!

The forests are being cut down to grow palm trees for palm, which is used on it's own & made into vegetable oil too.

Nick said that if you ask if it's orangutan friendly, they will find out.

My thoughts:

I enjoy the nature of wild animals & learning about them in their natural habitat! I try to do what I can to stop animal cruelty of all kinds though by donating, sending letters to my MP & signing petitions.

The reason why I want to work in conservation or some other kind of working with animals is because I care. When I see stuff on tv, images or reading about the heartless things that people will do to satisfy themselves... seriously, I lose it!

Animals have feelings too! They feel pain, mentally & phyically, like any human does. They have also known to fear people now because they know they might be killed. It just isn't on! These are just a few things that go on everyday!

- Animals are killed & skinned for their fur for coats, boots, hats, rugs & more.

- Being cruel to an animal because they believe that they taste better or animals that are skinned alive! How sick! Even if they did, it isn't on! Think about the poor animals!

- Bones are used to make medicine because it is believed people will gain strength. One case was a snake on The Crocodile Hunter that was going to be killed for this kind of medicine. It's just sick!

- Blood sport (fox, pidgeon etc hunting.) Killing for the fun is just seriously twisted that should be dealt with. How is chasing a fox for as long as eight hours non-stop (or more?) with twenty to forty hounds, riding on horseback with a gun fun? The ending is probably the best thing for the fox; it is shot & it's suffering ends.

- Killing because they are called pests. It's not, for example, the fox's fault if it kills a farmer's chicken. They're only doing it to survive & chicken is a food source. If they don't like it, secure your farm better you stupid idiots! Just think about it fools, geez! >_<

There is so much more that is unsaid, but it should be enough. Stick up for them!

- Pollution & litter (not good for the environment.)
